Watcha thinkin'?

Last week, my youngest was just sitting by the grass watching the traffic. Just as I grabbed the camera, he got up and started walking towards the house. I would LOVE to know what he was thinking. By the looks of his face, he was troubled.
Or else, just missing his daddy as he was working in another state for 2 1/2 weeks. The children greatly missed him. So did I. There is such security with a daddy in the house. More than any of us realize.
I believe that is why so many children are so scared to trust Jesus because they have been hurt, abused, neglected, and ignored by their biological father. Daddies, you have a tremendous calling at home. Micah 4:6 says, "And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." Across the nation, there are fathers whose hearts are turned to their children and in turn, the children's hearts are turned to their Heavenly Father. That is very beautiful to see. I also believe that this nation is being cursed because fathers have not taken their responsibility in the home. When fathers become passive, then mothers take charge. This is not in God's order. Both parents have equal responsibility in the home. I am FAR from perfect. I have such a long way to go and fail miserably. But my heart cry is that I will be the mother in the home that God intends me to be. I cannot of my own strength do my job. I need to rest fully on God. Far too many times, I have gone day by day on my own strength and not God's. And then my day is a nightmare.

Braden wanted a replay of the traffic watching and this time they were being silly.

Zach went outside, dreaming of school being over even while holding the pencil in his hand. With warm days, concentration is hard. Especially with English as he just doesn't get it. 'I don't think he wants to understand right now cause he wants to be done.' But he does get good grades.
OK, there must not be enough of things to do here so Braden comes in and does all kinds of stunts on the couch. I didn't know that this was a workout gym.

So he calms down and pulls out his Nick Jr Blue's Clues Preschool Skills. Hooray! There is someone in this house who isn't tired of school. In fact, he can't wait to learn to read. So why not start with some things now? Who says in this school of life that you can't keep right on learning all summer long?

And we've got the decoder wand to prove that learning is FUN!

And those horrid flies! I believe they're termites. Groan! Yes, this house was infested before.
