My husband had gone to another state for a job for an extended stay. Around our house, I'm the book keeper so guess what I found before he left? You guessed it, the receipt for these flowers which included the delivery date. The delivery date for the flowers was one day after he left. That Thursday, I didn't remember it once. But I did know why the van drove in our lane mid afternoon. I smelled the flowers before they were in my hand. My daughter was upstairs and smelled the waft coming through the window. Let me tell you, they were strong! Perfect for anyone who loves strong perfume.
I immediately called my husband to thank him for the lovely bouquet. Then he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. So I just told him that a fellow was here delivering something that was related to a receipt I found the other day!
"You didn't! I knew about that in my wallet but completely forgot about it when I handed you the receipts for filing," was his reply. He was rather beat out about his negligence. We laughed about it.
Such a lovely bouquet! Braden and Landon were fascinated by the snapdragons. And each of our children had a turn 'snapping' the gorgeous flower that our Creator made. It truly is a remarkable piece of nature.
Ssshhh! I'll tell you a secret. When I was younger, I loved the smell of lilies and still do for that matter, but to have them in the house all the time is too much perfume for me, at least this many lilies at one time. Sorry, dear. Lilies in the kitchen when cooking did not mix too well with our entire family. A friend of mine stayed for the night and she said she'll sleep with them. So I put them in the bedroom. They stayed there the next day and night with me sleeping on the couch both nights. Sorry, these lilies were sooo strong at night, worse than during the day. The third night I set them outside. Slowly we were getting used to the smell, but they were also gradually losing their fragrance. I really enjoyed this bouquet and the essence reminded me of my man. What a wonderful reminder to pray for him.

I hear you sister! Someone recently brought me lilacs as a hostess gift; much as I loved her thoughtfulness, they almost drove my sinuses crazy before I finally threw them out. The older I get the more I inherit my dad's allergies.
