Newborn nephew

Yesterday we spent the day traveling for a meeting Merv wanted to attend. He is getting into hardwood floor sanding and recently bought a new tool for that purpose. Heister House was demonstrating another tool which was very interesting to him.

Today we busied ourselves with preparing a meal for Merv's sister and family. They had their first boy Adam Daniel after having 4 girls. Daniel is extremely pleased! We also had plenty of time to visit and hold the new baby.

Supper was very easy to prepare: chicken and basil dumplings, sausage and bacon BBQ beans baked in a cast iron Dutch oven, and a super good salad prepared by my girls.

Hannah was very busy talking and playing with her baby. She has quite a unique character!

Adam is a very content baby, so different than some of the girls when they were babies. We are so happy for them and thankful that God blessed them with a healthy baby.

They recently installed this island in place of a kitchen table and really like it. Everyone asks if they got a new chandelier, but it's the same one they always had. Amazing how a new countertop enhances the lighting.
