Erosion

Today I feel better than I've felt in two weeks. It is wonderful to have energy and strength to work. Although I feel a bit anemic, I'm working to build up my iron. A tablespoon of black strap molasses isn't one of my favorite things to take.

Saturday night we had a LOT of rain. Sunday it rained some more. And today we have this to show for.

My husband is a bit chagrinned. He has done so much to try to get the grass on the bank to grow.

See, the driveway used to be right here including some of the deck when we moved here. We had an excavator relocate the drive, making it longer and less steep. But the bank has been a trial for us. We've had so much erosion.

Merv has tried to doctor it up, fertilizing it, seeding grass. It's better than it was, but not what it should be. There's simply not enough vegetarian growing to stop the erosion.

With 6-8 inches of frost coming out of the ground added with all the rain, we had this wash out. The ground is saturated and now we've got these stones to rake out.

These woes are nothing in comparison to those in Haiti. We have so much to be thankful for.
And it was a lovely day to hang out laundry!
