Turkey lurkey

We had some rain this week. Today seemed like a good day to harvest the rest of the carrots from the garden. The weekend forecast says colder weather for the weekend. Amber had the cold job of pulling the carrots and Zach rinsed them with the garden hose.

Homegrown carrots are very sweet and scrumptious. MUCH better than the ones from the store. I wish we had enough for the whole winter, but this bowl full is a treat!

Many folks may have been turkeyed out. But we weren't.

We went to the store to find some Butterball turkeys on sale. We purchased three. Two we baked overnight then deboned the meat and put 24 cups in the freezer.

The third one we grilled and enjoyed our second thanksgiving dinner. Then we had 6 more cups of meat to freeze. It's such a blessing.

Our little Indians enjoyed the feast. They were wearing handkerchiefs for the past couple days.

Merv was hacking at night all week. Turkey noodle corn soup was a great meal one night.
