Yea, just tell me. I probably should have had him checked before, but I have an A+ or some may call it an F in procastinating.
Zach couldn't WAIT to get his glasses. He was really hoping to have them by the weekend, but that was impossible with it being a holiday weekend.
We picked them up on Tuesday. He only needs them for reading. Now it's only the part of having his eyes get used to glasses. He may grow out of having to wear glasses.
Landon picked up one of the girls' readers and started 'reading'.
Amber has been doing excellent with getting her school work done. She had time to debone some meat.
I've really been in the meat buying binge. I bought two Smithfield hams and one pork roast on sale at the grocery store for $.98 - $1.18 a pound which is a good price to me.
We are planning ahead for our Christmas vacation.
Some of the ham will go into old fashioned ham and bean soup. We love the basil in it. Then I'll make some snitz pies to go with it. We grew up putting the pie right in the soup. I still prefer mine on the side, but I do like to eat them together.
Down south folks eat fried pies and they like it best when the filling is made with real dried apples. In Belleville, PA the ladies fix moon pies. But Lancaster, PA folks fix snitz (dried apple) pies. I like all three.
The pork is for barbecued pork sandwiches. It is nice to have that part of the menu done.
Planning ahead is a unusual for me. It is nice not to procrastinate with this. The holidays are creeping up fast. Time somehow seems to go faster when you're older.
The past few years we haven't done an excessive amount of baking and it really eases up the busy holdiday schedule.
This week we had very few desserts. Merv, Allison, and the two youngest had some sinus drainage and coughs. We eliminate the sugars then.
