It's all about the heart

We were incredibly blessed tonight with hearing Ken Freeman who spoke at the high school. The title of this post was his message.

He asked us to put our hands over our hearts and say this with him,
 "God, speak to my heart.
And God, what will I do with what You say to my heart?"

Everything we do in life is about our heart.
"Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh." Matthew 12:34

If you want to know why you dress, act, talk, think, sing, eat, everything that you do, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE HEART!

Proverbs 4:23 in the NIV says, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life."

Everything you do in life is all about your heart.

How many times have you said something, then said, 'oh, I was just kidding'? You know what? You meant what you said. What's in your heart, comes out of your mouth. What's in your heart comes out.

When your whole body is controlled by God's Word, you're gonna have God's heart.

There are 5 kinds of hearts in Matthew 13:3-9:

The soil represents our heart.
God's Word is the seed.
The bird represents the devil.

Calloused - hard, cold - verse 19 - Is your heart calloused, cold, and hard to the things of God?

Careless - shallow - verses 20, 21 - The reason some of you can't be consistent is you're careless. Some of you are full time visitors. If you want to be connected with God, you need to connect with the church and with the Bible study. You just can't get it on Sunday morning! What's in your heart, comes out of your mouth. What you say, is what you do.

Crowded - verse 22 - The message is crowded out with other things besides God's Word.

Christ-like - verse 23, 24-30

Counterfeit - Matthew 7:16-23 - Hell will be full of people who were religious, those who had lip service, people who went to church all their lives, who talked about Christ, but NEVER had his heart.

If your heart would stop, do you have the right heart? Would you go to heaven or hell?

At the judgement seat of Christ, many will come in Jesus' name and say, 'Haven't we prophesied in Your name? we've cast out devils, and done many wonderful works.'

But Jesus will say, 'I never knew you.'

You see, they had the wrong heart!

With the heart, man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10.

We were challenged, convicted, and blessed. And our 3 oldest walked to the altar. Praise God! And I was convicted about crowding out God with other things.

This life is nothing to mess around with. It's either heaven or hell. You're going to one or the other. What is in your heart? Please accept God's gift of salvation and fill your heart with God's Word. You don't want to go to hell. Nobody does!

I'm sure that was a very good talk...you portrayed what you heard very well! I would say I fit the "crowded" heart...never thought of it that way before. :( Something else to work on!
Praise God for the decisions your children made! May He bless them abundantly!
