Wine berries and sweet corn

Once again we were in the mountains for a job, this time a week.
Grandma and Allison went to my brother-in-law for a couple days.
The rest of us went to my sister's-in-law for the day. We all, including the dog, hopped on this golf cart in search for wine berries. This is the first I had heard of them. They are in a fuzzy pod and when the berry is ready, the pod opens up. The red berries have a natural stickiness to them, and are very delicious with vanilla ice cream.

My little niece is enjoying the berries - a free gift from God!

Braden didn't have patience at all with the berry picking.

The briers were prickly and thorny so we got our gentleman in to pick as he had the proper attire. He picked a good amount. And this time he enjoyed the job.

This lovely home was built by my brother-in-law.

Time came for us to leave and so we went 'home' to fix supper. I was very thankful for the sweet corn suggestion, so we stopped by the produce market. We all enjoyed our first taste of the season - none other than the best of the bestest flavor of sweet corn, INCREDIBLE.
The boys were thankful for the help of their uncle.

Lovely supper of sweet corn, cucumber salad, home fries, and beef.
Grandpa was late coming home from work. But this little munchkin wouldn't give his elder any peace. His chatter stilled all silence!

And occasionally, he was joined by his brother ~ asking all kinds of questions and barely giving him a chance to finish his meal in peace.
