I am posting the photo that I said I'd spare you the details of. This day was by far the worst day. It's now been over a week where we had the exterminator come out. They drilled holes all along the concrete pad about 18" apart and spritzed their 'stuff' down those holes to kill the termites. Then they drilled 16 times to set that amount of bait traps around the house. There is wood in the bottom and bait on top to attract these pests that live in the ground. Learn more here.
The thing that I need to vent out is that it took money for us to take care of that, a whooping $1,150. God knew when we needed this money. You see, we had our truck for sale already last year and God allowed it to be sold just in time to help us pay this plus some outstanding business credit debt. Presently our mortgage payment is more than half of what we earn a month in this time of our lives. The earlier part of this year it was all we made. We have had to majorly pinch our pennies. We have made some STUPID mistakes as Dave Ramsey would say. But we are in the learning process. We are very excited about taking in the home seminar. At the same time, it takes discipline to not just buy what you want. That's hard as I used to buy whatever I wanted. Believe me, we're paying for it. But I am very thankful that the home mortgage is our only debt. We sold the truck and now we're left with only one vehicle. We need a truck bad as Merv don't know how he will haul windows and trash in the trailer today. The Excursion isn't a pick up truck. So now we are saving up for a cheaper diesel truck. It's hard to save when you only pick up piddly jobs here and there, jobs that provide a small amount of income for which we're very thankful for, but hard to live on.
So yesterday I was trying to think of ways to earn a little money. Every week we bake 6 loaves of whole wheat bread to sell at a little store. That pays for the bread we eat, gives Amber something to do plus a little income, and gives us a couple extra dollars for the grocery bill. I try to think of little things around the house to put on ebay. We bought a Kit American Girl skirt for $.50 which we hope to bring in some money. New it sells for $32. And I bought a set of Uncle Arthur's Bedtime Story books like new for $8 at a Goodwill in FL which I plan to list to make some money. Then I was telling my husband exactly how I feel, and he told me that I don't not need to feel responsible for making an income. That was so sweet of him. I have been too stressed out about paying bills, since I'm the one that does that. Far too many times I take my cares to the Lord, give Him my worries and stress about finances, then take it back time and time again. When will I ever learn to let the Lord have my all? When?

Broken Dreams
As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God
Because He was my friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How could you be so slow"
"My child," He said, "What could I do?
You never did let go."

This is something we should all read at least once a week!

It is the most-requested column I've ever written."

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me.
It is the most-requested column I've ever written."
My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:
1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their
journey is all about.
journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's,we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come.
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

Life Truths
Once over the hill, you pick up speed.
Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.
If the shoe fits......buy it in every color.
If you're too open minded, your brains will fall out.
If you look like your passport picture, you probably need the trip.
Some days are a total waste of makeup.
Men are from earth. Women are from earth. Deal with it.
A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand.
Middle age is when broadness of the mind and narrowness of the waist change places.
Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.
Junk is something you've kept for years and throw away three weeks before you need it.
Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
By the time you can make ends meet, they move the ends.

My mind feels decluttered. I have just organized my photos AND email. I have this bad habit to open email and then just leave it in the inbox to wait till a later date to organize or delete. I resolve to organize as I go, it takes too much time later. Also, with learning to coupon and save more money, it doesn't necessarily mean it saves time, at least when you have a ton of emails and blogs to read. You know there are a mega amount of blogs out there telling you how to save money so I won't need to do that on here. Click here and here and here for a few of my favorites. There may be better ones out there, but these are a few my sister discovered.
