Fearfully and wonderfully made

I generally don't talk about this stuff, but it's quite a funny story.

I was at the library to cut and organize coupons. I took my Sunday's pack along. An older man was sitting a few feet from me reading the newspaper. We were sitting back to back, only he was was 5-6 feet to my right. The library was quiet for once. Often the ladies there are loud and laugh a lot. So it's not the quietest place to be, although libraries are generally known to be calm and peaceful.

I'm cutting, the older man is reading and then I heard some humming.
Quiet again for a couple minutes.
Suddenly, BBBBBBBBBBBTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
He farted so loud and long that I JUMPED. I don't scare easily, but it was so LOUD, I literally JUMPED. He didn't say anything, neither did I nor the man who had joined me at the table on my far left.

IF THE BOYS HAD BEEN THERE, they would have BURST out laughing. In some ways, I wish they would have been along. I would have loved to witness their reaction. It was so hilariously funny but I didn't dare laugh or indicate that I heard a thing. Thankfully, I didn't smell anything.

Quiet again.
Now the older man is resting, holding the newspaper but no longer reading, his hat slightly covering his eyes.
Then I heard some more humming.
Quiet.
BBBBBBBBBBTHHHHHHHHHHHH AGAIN! but this time I didn't jump.

This happened yet the third time!!!! It was a pattern that he'd hum before passing gas.

Before I left, another guy with boots shuffled past him and I glanced in his direction.
The older man met my gaze, but never once did either of us utter a word.

I have never in my life heard the likes before.
Apparently, he had no shame.
His position never once suggested he was the culprit.
He was just content to sit there, hum, relax, and pass gas.
And he looked very content!!!!

Whether that glorifies God or not, you decide. I know our bodies are amazing.

Today's lesson with the little ones was about the cell. Scientists discovered the microscope only 300 years ago. Is the "simple" cell really simple? A long time ago scientists thought so, but the more we learn about the simple cell, the more we realize how complicated the cell really is, with all kinds of activity taking place within it. Even on the tiny level of the cell, we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14) by God.

I agree. ALL body funtions are part of how we are wonderfully made. STILL, it is very hard not to wrinkle your nose or laugh when someone does someting like what you described. OR PUKE on the spot from the smell.....which is another of the body functions that are kind of on the unpleasant side.
